Description

Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is a Second Growth of the 1855 Classification in Pauillac, with vineyards bordering Château Latour and reaching into Saint-Julien. Owned since 2007 by the Rouzaud family of Champagne Louis Roederer, the estate is renowned for wines that combine Pauillac power with unusual finesse. The 2018 comes from a warm, sunny and widely acclaimed Bordeaux vintage, producing a ripe, concentrated blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with Cabernet Franc, aged in French oak.

Tasting Notes: Nose: Ripe blackcurrant, black cherry, violet, cocoa and cedar. Palate: Full-bodied and opulent, with dense dark fruit, graphite and plush yet firm tannins. Finish: Very long and layered, with cassis, mocha and mineral notes.

Built for long aging; if opening now, decant for two hours and serve at 62-65°F. Pair with prime rib, braised short ribs or aged hard cheeses.
