Released in 2021, this distinctive expression represents one of Woodford Reserve’s most ambitious grain-focused experiments.
Rather than relying on finishing barrels to create its unique character, Five-Malt Stouted Mash uses a carefully developed recipe featuring five different styles of malted barley. The combination produces pronounced roasted, chocolate and coffee flavors while retaining Woodford Reserve’s signature balance and complexity.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Rich dark chocolate, roasted malt and cocoa mingle with caramel, toasted nuts, coffee, vanilla and subtle dried fruit.
Palate: Deep and creamy with dark chocolate, espresso, toasted malt and caramel, developing into roasted nuts, cocoa, dried cherry, vanilla, cinnamon and warm oak.
Finish: Long and satisfying with lingering roasted coffee, bittersweet chocolate, toasted grain, caramel and gentle baking spice.
