Description

Terredora di Paolo is a family estate in Irpinia, the hilly interior of Campania near Avellino, founded by Walter Mastroberardino and his family and today one of the region's largest vineyard owners. Taurasi, often called the "Barolo of the South," is Campania's great red DOCG, made from Aglianico grown in the high hills around the town of Taurasi. Required to age for several years before release, including time in wood, it is a powerful, structured and long-lived red.

Tasting Notes: Nose: Black cherry, plum, leather, tobacco, dried violets and spice. Palate: Full-bodied, with dark fruit, licorice and earthy, savory notes framed by firm tannins and lively acidity. Finish: Long, with lingering spice and minerality.

Decant before serving; pair with braised beef, roast lamb, wild boar ragù or aged pecorino.
