Description

Château Margaux is one of the four original First Growths of the 1855 Classification, owned by the Mentzelopoulos family since 1977 and run today by Corinne Mentzelopoulos. Pavillon Blanc is the estate's rare white wine, made entirely from Sauvignon Blanc grown on a dedicated parcel of the property; because white wines cannot carry the Margaux appellation, it is bottled as Bordeaux Blanc. Fermented and aged in oak, it is one of the most sought-after dry whites of the Médoc, presented here in a wooden case.

Tasting Notes: Nose: Citrus zest, white peach, fresh herbs and a hint of toasted brioche. Palate: Rich yet precise, with grapefruit, pear, flinty minerality and subtle oak, carried by vibrant acidity. Finish: Long, saline and refined.

Serve lightly chilled (around 52°F) with lobster, turbot, scallops in butter sauce or aged goat cheese; it also rewards cellaring.
