Crafted from a distinctive wheated bourbon recipe and matured for 15 years in heavily charred new American oak barrels, it is bottled at a robust 107 proof to preserve its remarkable depth, richness and character.
The palate is full-bodied and exceptionally layered, balancing deep sweetness with mature oak and warming spice. Its long aging develops a luxurious concentration of caramelized sugar, dark fruit and seasoned wood while retaining the signature softness associated with wheated bourbon.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Rich caramel, vanilla bean, brown sugar and dried fruit, followed by toasted oak, baking spices and a touch of leather.

The Van Winkle Legacy
The Van Winkle family’s whiskey legacy began in the late 1800s when Julian “Pappy” Van Winkle Sr. entered the Kentucky bourbon business. He later became a driving force behind the legendary Stitzel-Weller Distillery, which opened in Louisville on Derby Day in 1935. Pappy believed that fine bourbon could not be rushed, a philosophy reflected in the family’s enduring commitment to patient aging and uncompromising quality.
Today, the Van Winkle tradition continues through the family’s partnership with Buffalo Trace Distillery.
