Description

Mathieu Paquet is a small grower-producer working vineyards in the Beaujolais crus, where he farms old Gamay vines and favors traditional, low-intervention winemaking. Moulin-à-Vent is often called the "king of Beaujolais" for its structured, age-worthy wines grown on granite and manganese-rich soils. This bottling comes from Les Fromentaux, one of the appellation's named climats, and is made entirely from Gamay.

Tasting Notes: Nose: Dark cherry, crushed raspberry, violet and a hint of wet stone. Palate: Medium-bodied and more serious than most Beaujolais, with red and black fruit, savory spice and firm, fine-grained tannins. Finish: Long and mineral, with lingering cherry and a gentle earthy note.

Serve slightly cool, around 58°F, alongside roast chicken, duck, charcuterie or mushroom dishes.

Moulin-à-Vent AOC, Beaujolais · 100% Gamay
