Description
Fortaleza Still Strength Blanco presents traditional tequila in its purest and most expressive form. Bottled at the same 46% ABV strength at which it leaves the copper still, this powerful blanco delivers greater concentration, texture, and agave intensity than the standard expression.
Produced from 100% Blue Weber agave at Destilería La Fortaleza in Tequila, Jalisco, it is crafted using old-world techniques, including slow cooking in stone-and-brick ovens, crushing with a volcanic-stone tahona, open-air fermentation in wooden vats, and double distillation in copper pots.
Tasting Notes
The aroma opens with intensely roasted agave, fresh lime, grapefruit peel, green olive, and cracked black pepper. Deeper notes of butter, wet stone, sea salt, mint, basil, and freshly cut grass add remarkable complexity.
The palate is bold, oily, and full-bodied, revealing layers of sweet cooked agave, citrus zest, tropical fruit, vanilla, and pepper. Vegetal notes of green herbs, olive brine, jalapeño, and roasted poblano are balanced by earthy minerals, gentle smoke, anise, and a subtle floral character.
The finish is exceptionally long and warming, leaving lingering flavors of roasted agave, lime oil, black pepper, saline minerals, fresh herbs, and earthy spice.
