Description

De Martino is a family winery founded in 1934 in Isla de Maipo, Chile, by Italian immigrant Pietro De Martino and still run by his descendants. Over the past two decades it has become one of Chile's most influential producers, championing site expression, lower-intervention winemaking and the revival of old, dry-farmed vineyards in the country's southern regions. This wine is part of VIGNO (Vignadores de Carignan), an association of Maule Valley producers whose wines must be made predominantly from old, dry-farmed, head-trained Carignan vines in Maule.

Tasting Notes: Nose: Sour cherry, wild raspberry, dried herbs and earthy spice. Palate: Juicy and vibrant with bright red and black fruit, lively acidity and firm rustic tannins. Finish: Long and savory with tart cherry and a mineral edge.

Pairs well with charcuterie, grilled sausages, roast pork and rich tomato-based dishes.
