Description

Weinlaubenhof Kracher in Illmitz, on the shores of Lake Neusiedl in Austria's Burgenland, is world-famous for its botrytized sweet wines, built to legendary status by the late Alois "Luis" Kracher and now run by his son Gerhard. Alongside its dessert wines, the estate produces a small range of dry (trocken) wines, including this Grüner Veltliner, Austria's signature white grape, fermented dry for a crisp, food-friendly style.

Tasting Notes: Nose: Green apple, lime zest, white pepper and fresh herbs. Palate: Crisp and medium-bodied with citrus, pear and a hint of lentil-like spice, supported by lively acidity. Finish: Clean, peppery and refreshing.

An excellent match for Wiener schnitzel, salads, asparagus, sushi and Thai or Vietnamese dishes.
