Description

Gérard Bertrand, a former rugby player turned winemaker, has become one of the leading figures of southern France, building a family of estates across Languedoc-Roussillon with a strong commitment to biodynamic farming. His Héritage collection pays tribute to the long winemaking history of the Languedoc, with each bottling named for a date in the region's past. An 77 comes from Clairette du Languedoc, one of the region's oldest appellations, around the village of Adissan, and is made from the indigenous Clairette grape.

Tasting Notes: Nose: white flowers, fennel, citrus peel and ripe pear. Palate: medium-bodied and textured, with yellow apple, lemon and a gentle herbal, almond note. Finish: fresh, dry and lightly saline.

Serve chilled with grilled sea bass, mussels, herb-roasted chicken or fresh goat cheese.
