Description

Chateau Ste. Michelle, headquartered at its French-style chateau in Woodinville, is Washington State's founding winery, with roots reaching back to the years after Prohibition and a pioneering role in planting classic vinifera grapes in the Columbia Valley. It belongs to the winery's small-lot Limited Release series, in which individual members of the Chateau Ste. Michelle winemaking team craft experimental or site-specific bottlings, with the winemaker named on the label. Cold Creek Vineyard, planted in 1973 on warm, dry slopes in the Columbia Valley, is one of the oldest and most celebrated vineyards in Washington. This red blend was crafted by Bob Bertheau, the winery's longtime head winemaker.

Tasting Notes: Nose: Blackcurrant, black cherry, cedar and spice. Palate: Full-bodied and structured, with dark fruit, mocha and firm tannins. Finish: Long and savory.

Pair with grilled steak, lamb or aged cheeses.
