Description

Château Léoville Barton is a Second Growth in the 1855 Classification, owned by the Barton family since 1826 and today run by Lilian Barton Sartorius and her children. The wine is made at the cellars of its sister estate, Château Langoa Barton, and is admired for its classic, age-worthy Saint-Julien style. The grand vin is a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend with Merlot and Cabernet Franc; 2017 produced a fresh, elegant and balanced wine.

Tasting Notes: Nose: Blackcurrant, red cherry, cedar, pencil lead and a hint of mint. Palate: Medium- to full-bodied, with pure cassis fruit, fine tannins and lively acidity. Finish: Long, fresh and savory.

Pair with roast lamb, beef tenderloin or game birds. Decant for an hour; will continue to develop with cellaring.

Saint-Julien, Bordeaux · Second Growth (1855) · Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend · 2017 vintage
