Description

Château Léoville Barton is a Second Growth in the 1855 Classification, owned by the Barton family since 1826 and today run by Lilian Barton Sartorius and her children. The wine is made at the cellars of its sister estate, Château Langoa Barton, and is admired for its classic, age-worthy Saint-Julien style. The grand vin is a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend with Merlot and Cabernet Franc; 2009 was a warm, celebrated vintage that yielded rich, generous wines.

Tasting Notes: Nose: Ripe cassis, blackberry, cedar, tobacco and emerging earthy notes. Palate: Full-bodied and rich, with concentrated dark fruit, plush yet structured tannins and savory complexity. Finish: Long and layered, with spice and graphite.

Pair with prime rib, roast lamb, venison or aged cheeses. Decant to separate any sediment.

Saint-Julien, Bordeaux · Second Growth (1855) · Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend · 2009 vintage
