Description

Château Cos d'Estournel is a Second Growth of the 1855 Classification and the leading estate of Saint-Estèphe, known for the pagoda towers built by founder Louis-Gaspard d'Estournel and, since 2000, owned by Michel Reybier. Its gravel slopes face Château Lafite, and the grand vin is a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend with Merlot. 2014 was a classic, fresh vintage on the Left Bank, producing a Cos of fine balance and aromatic precision that is now drinking well while still capable of further aging.

Tasting Notes: Nose: Cassis, black cherry and cedar with graphite, violet and a hint of exotic spice. Palate: Medium- to full-bodied, with fine-grained tannins, bright acidity and layers of dark fruit, tobacco and pencil shavings. Finish: Long, fresh and savory.

Decant for an hour and enjoy with roast lamb, grilled steak or duck confit.

Saint-Estèphe, Bordeaux · Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend
