Description

Forty Creek is a whisky distillery in Grimsby, Ontario, founded by whisky maker John Hall, known for distilling and aging rye, barley and corn whiskies separately before blending them. Confederation Oak Reserve is one of the distillery's premium expressions, named in honor of Canada's Confederation: after blending, the whisky is finished in barrels coopered from Canadian white oak, which lends a distinctive spicy, creamy character.

Tasting Notes: Nose: Butterscotch, vanilla, toasted walnut and a hint of orange peel. Palate: Rich and creamy, with caramel, brown sugar, dried fruit and warm baking spices from the Canadian oak. Finish: Long and smooth, with lingering spice, toffee and oak.

Best enjoyed neat or with a splash of water; it also makes an excellent Old Fashioned.

Canadian whisky · 80 proof (40% ABV)
