Each bottle of Blanton's has one of 8 different stoppers, each depicting a horse and jockey at a different stage of finishing a race. The designs are all lettered so that a complete set laid out side by side will spell "BLANTONS."
Handpicked directly from the center of the Blanton warehouse, Blanton's Original Single Barrel Bourbon, as the world's first commercially sold single barrel bourbon, certainly lives up to its label as a 'super premium' spirit. Originally reserved for dignitaries, VIPs and the Master Distiller himself, this bourbon only became available on the commercial market in 1984 after almost 50 years in existence. Kept in the center of the warehouse, allowing for maximum expansion and contraction of the barrel, resulting in the most intense flavor and characteristics, this bourbon is not only unique, but exceptionally refined.

The experience was OK, placing the order was easy and other than waiting over holidays to receive the shipment. Everything went well. I will say I was disappointed with the condition of the box and of the bottles when they arrived. I had three bottles that leaked slightly, and while it wasn’t much, it was enough to ruin the labels on the bottles. This is a collection that I purchased and it was disappointing to see the bottle labels damaged in shipping. For the cost which I am not complaining about, I would expect the bottles to be shipped in an upright condition in some form or fashion to help prevent or minimize leakage. Instead, all of the bottles were wrapped in bubble wrap, and placed in a large box, some upside down sideways and some perhaps right side up. I feel that there is a better way in today’s world to package something to minimize this occurrence that I had. Well, the shipper did give me a small discount. It was not about money it was about having a pristine collection.
