Description

Toad Hollow Vineyards was founded in Healdsburg, Sonoma County, in 1993 by Todd Williams and Rachel Lee, and became known for approachable, fruit-forward wines and its playful toad labels. Risqué is the winery's French sparkling wine, a Blanquette de Limoux from the south of France made primarily from the local Mauzac grape using the méthode ancestrale, an older technique in which the wine finishes its single fermentation in the bottle, leaving it light, lively and gently sweet.

Tasting Notes: Nose: Green apple, pear, white flowers and a touch of honey. Palate: Light-bodied and softly sweet, with crisp apple, ripe pear and citrus carried by a fine, frothy mousse. Finish: Fresh and clean, with a hint of apple blossom.

Serve well chilled as an aperitif, with brunch, fresh fruit tarts or mildly spicy dishes.
