The result is the smallest Dom Pérignon blend ever produced. Because the Chardonnay was outstanding that year, it makes up 61% of the blend. That is the second-highest share in the cuvée's history, surpassed only by the 1970. Chef de Caves Vincent Chaperon calls 2017 an atypical, \"radical\" vintage, and critics have widely praised it as a triumph over a difficult year. The palate is broad and creamy with an exotic richness, balanced by lively acidity and a subtle, pleasant bitterness. The finish is long and mineral, with citrus, ripe fruit, toasted hazelnut and a touch of cacao.
